Abstract:
Green entrepreneurship, which combines environmental sustainability and business innovation, is growing in popularity. This bibliometric analysis examines green entrepreneurship research patterns and developments as a key driver of sustainable economic growth. This study analyses a large number of academic articles to identify green entrepreneurship research trends and dynamics. Over the past decade, research output has increased, indicating global interest in sustainable entrepreneurship to address environmental issues. This analysis identifies the main themes in green entrepreneurship research. Sustainable business models, eco-friendly innovation, environmental social entrepreneurship, and policy framework influence. These thematic clusters show how green entrepreneurship can transform the environment and society while boosting economic growth. The study examines the geographical distribution of research contributions, focusing on North America and Europe. Asia, Africa, and South America are also keen on studying green entrepreneurship. This shows a global trend towards recognising environmentally conscious startups and businesses in diverse cultural and economic contexts. This analysis examines researcher-institution co-authorship and collaboration networks, emphasising the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and knowledge sharing for green entrepreneurship research. This bibliometric analysis illuminates green entrepreneurship research's dynamic field. This statement emphasises the role of this discipline in sustainable innovation, economic development, and environmental protection. As green entrepreneurship gains popularity worldwide, this study provides a comprehensive guide for researchers, policymakers, and entrepreneurs who want to contribute to a sustainable and environmentally conscious future through their entrepreneurial endeavours. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
