dc.description.abstractDrug abuse among Malaysians especially in the state of Kelantan are major public health concerns, yet few studies have associated it with adverse academic and health outcomes and risks to personal safety. This research utilized data from a longitudinal study to determine the importance of awareness and proper attitude towards drugs. Out of 3927 students, 351 were chosen in order to successfully complete this research. A set of questionnaires was prepared and distributed to the chosen number of students in order to derive their level of awareness and attitude towards the effect of drug abuse. The findings from this study indicate that knowledge and attitude positively have a significant on the effect of drug abuse among public university students in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This study also clearly demonstrates the need for a prevention program to be developed throughout all stages of adolescent in order to decrease the major issue from drug abuse.en_US
