The digitalization of homestay businesses has the potential to significantly enhance environmental practices by enabling efficient resource management and reducing the ecological footprint of these accommodations. This study examine 12 publications indexed by Scopus pertaining to digitalization, environmental practices, and homestay experiences. The analysis revealed a dearth of noticeable trends in this field until 2023, following an initial report in 2005. Notably, the fields of Business, Management, and Accounting emerged as influential domains, with the United Kingdom making substantial contributions. Interestingly, the scholarly journal titled “Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing” has garnered a mere single publication and citation. This suggests that the journal does not endorse or provide favourable support for the research conducted within this particular field or researcher in this field do not familiar with the journal. The paper titled “The Homestay in Intensive Language Study Abroad” by Shiri S., published in 2005, received the highest number of citations. Additionally, the study found that the terms “tourism,” “China,” and “rural areas” were frequently associated with digitalization, environmental practices, and homestay, underlining their relevance in this evolving research area.en_US
