dc.description.abstractThe utilisation of online digital media can provide waqf institutions with a platform to effectively advance their mission, actively interact with stakeholders, and enhance awareness and fundraising efforts. This enables them to harness technology to achieve a broader and more significant influence in their philanthropic pursuits. This study examines the research trends of online digital media and waqf institutions by analysing 662 publications indexed by Scopus. The study shows an increasing trend in the amount of publications and contributors over the years. In 2018, there were the highest citation rates with a total of 339 citations by 59 contributing authors. Malaysia at the forefront in terms of publication contributions, followed closely by Indonesia and Turkey. The area of focus, namely Business, Management, and Accounting, exhibits significant activity with a total of 13 publications contributed. The article titled “Determinants of online waqf acceptance: An empirical investigation” published in 2014 has received the highest citation count of 47. The keywords “waqf,” “Malaysia,” and “cash waqf” are frequently mentioned in the selected publications. The study highlights the emergence of research in online digital media and waqf institutions which indicate the effectiveness of technology adoption by the waqf institutions in managing waqf.en_US
