Abstract:
The topic of health is becoming more of a crucial element in today's life particularly due to the COVID-19 crisis. This research was conducted to point out an eco-friendly building material focusing on interior environment towards better quality of life. The method adopted incorporates deeper literature study and interview sessions with expertise in the built environment mainly in eco-friendly and sustainable houses. The results show that there is a long list of available local eco-friendly material mainly timber, brick, concrete, and bamboo that can be used in producing a healthy home. This research concludes that people need to gain more understanding of these materials and demand from our construction players will help to push more interest for these healthier options products. The data collected could be seen as important in the wake of recent endemic COVID-19 that involved wellbeing inside the house. This would be beneficial to the policy maker, enlightened building industry players and homeowners to highlight the significance of practicing a healthy environment.
