Abstract:
Every Muslim must commit to performing zakat because zakat is one of the five main pillars of Islam. It has been stated 30 times in the Quran (Al-Qardawi, 2000). Further, its purpose is to redistribute society’s wealth towards people with low incomes by preparing a certain amount of specific wealth from capable persons to benefit those qualified to receive zakat. In Malaysia, the authorities responsible for collecting and distributing zakat funds are State Islamic Religious Councils. In legal terms, zakat is giving a part of their property to assured groups of people under certain requirements. It also seems to purify all the balance of the property from syubhat (idleness) and release it from all the rights associated with it, particularly the rights of the people who need it and the eighth asnaf (Bahri et al., 2021). In distributing zakat funds, the state zakat authorities, especially in Kelantan, would execute various programs for the zakat receiver. The Entrepreneurial Asnaf’s or Usahawan Asnaf’s program is one of the programs that are the purpose of comforting the asnaf to participate in business.
