The current and historical statuses of Rebana Kercing as an invaluable performing art or cultural heritage have been accentuated respectively in Chapter 2 and Chapter 3. The performing art has been a known culture in Kelantan since the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It has been performed by different Rebana Kercing groups located in several places of Kelantan, such as Kampung Laut and Pasir Mas. The practitioners of the performing art were performers previously involved with the people of Rebana Kercing in Kampung Laut, where they learned about the performing art, brought it back to the villages they resided in, and performed it there. However, it has been noted by Pak Su Harun, as the agreeable last prominent activist of the Rebana Kercing performing art to live today, that these Rebana Kercing groups in different places are no longer extant. The only group that remains today is Kumpulan Budaya Rebana Kercing, the Rebana Kercing of Kampung Laut Association located in Kampung Laut, Tumpat, Kelantan.en_US
