Transcending the barriers of race and creed, Malaysia is a multicultural country with its inhabitants coexisting harmoniously as a unified nation. The country dwells in the segments of the Malay Peninsula and the island of Borneo, with a heritage of diverse influences resulting from long-term British colonial rule. Malaysia’s rich mix of ethnicities has blessed it with an abundance of unique arts, cultures, and traditions. From the myriads of cultural heritage, Rebana Kercing, a traditional performing art that has existed since the 18th century, plays a pivotal role in the hearts of the locals. The invaluable art has regrettably shown signs of gradual diminishment in its popularity recently, thereby merits preservation.en_US
