In a span of two hours, heavy rain that coincided with a high tide and the subsequent closure of tidal gates overwhelmed the nearby river's capacity to contain the surge of water. A woman was stranded in her car as the floodwater reached a perilous height of 1.3m. Fortunately, she was rescued in the nick of time. This incident lays bare the vulnerabilities in our society due to climate-related challenges. What was once perceived as a seasonal phenomenon confined to specific regions has now evolved into an unpredictable threat capable of disrupting the most unsuspecting areas.en_US
