Abstract:
The significance of the agriculture sector in Malaysia to its economy is accentuated by its historical role in the progression of civilization. Despite global commitments to address hunger, statistics indicate a persistent food insecurity challenge, especially among low-income families. The importance of the sector is reaffirmed by its potential to create jobs, enhance food security, and contribute to the nation's revenue through agro-based industries. This article discusses how the Malaysian government has embarked on modernization efforts to transform traditional agriculture using technology, addressing challenges posed by global trade dynamics, and alleviating environmental concerns related to conventional farming practices.
