Datuk Asma reminisced her first experience in rising above the challenge in life. She was still in primary school when the family moved from Jitra, Kedah, to Georgetown, Penang. In her old school in Jitra, she was in a class meant for intelligent students. However, to her dismay, she was grouped with the low achievers in the new school. Asma went to her father, begging to be transferred back to her old school. His only response was, "show them what Jitra education can do." And that was what she did. She worked hard, became the best student in her class, and earned her right to join the high achievers.en_US
