| dc.description.abstract | Malaysia's 15th General Election (GE) is widely speculated to be held very soon. The complicated situation in facing the country's GE brings back Ghauth's memories of the unpleasant incidents with those from Putrajaya. His former job as Universiti Malaya’s (UM) Vice-Chancellor was undoubtedly a very challenging one. In his effort to carry out the mandate to steer UM into the list of top universities in the world, he faced resistance from UM staff and constant harassment from the country's political masters. Ghauth was adamant about showing all stakeholders that he would carry out his mission no matter how impossible it may seem.
