Folklore is the culmination of the idea of pastimes to educate the morals of the local community through oral communication. The method of word-of-mouth delivery has conveyed the values through the teachings and lessons in Malay folklore. Nevertheless, scholars' socio-economic interactions in folklore are less revealed in their studies. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify and analyze socio-economic interactions in the Kilatan Emas folklore based on Malay Methodology Theory. This study is limited to examining aspects of leadership in a folklore work entitled Kilatan Emas. It has outlined an approach in Malay Methodological Theory, namely the Social Approach as a deductive study. In addition, the study uses qualitative methods that involve the library and the field to produce comprehensive research. The results of the study prove that the folklore of Kilatan Emas has socio-economic interactions that highlight the leadership attitude towards children and teenagers as well as maintaining the Malay community's cultural traditions.en_US
