Common sense is something found in literary works such as oral narratives that aim to teach self-discipline to young people. Common sense is often applied in folklore storytelling by a amateur speakers to educate young people about the customs, local culture and laws of the Malay civilization. However, the study of oral narratives has been lacking by previous researchers. This is because previous researchers did not emphasize the aspect of common sense in their study. Therefore, this study was conducted for the purpose of identifying and analyzing the common sense contained in the folklore in the district of area Tumpat, Kelantan. Thus, this study uses qualitative methods, namely library methods and field research methods. This study also uses Methodology Malay Theory as the deductive of the study. Results of the study found that there are some common sense contained in the folklore in Tumpat, Kelantan, which should be brought to the knowledge of the Malay community in particular.en_US
