Abstract: 
The main aspect of performing arts is to represent the identity of a place. Dikir Rebana Kercing, for example is one of the performing arts that still exist in Kelantan, Malaysia. Community in Tumpat, Kelantan has performed this performing art as part of their entertainment, especially in the social gatherings and ceremonies within their society. Dikir Rebana Kercing had went through some changes and developments starting from 500 years ago till now. Therefore, this research examines the developments of Dikir Rebana Kercing in Kelantan, focusing on Kampung Laut, Tumpat from the beginning to the present day. The research data were using a preliminary survey, observation, and interview. Preliminary surveys were conducted to investigate the issues and problems related to the research while observations and interviews were used to understand the extent of development of Dikir Rebana Kercing. The interviews involved eight respondents including several experts from Dikir Rebana Kercing as well as the residents of Kampung Laut. The findings of this research concluded the development of Dikir Rebana Kercing based on the acceptance and perceptions of the community member as well as their lifestyle practices after the emergence of performances that used modern and western rhythms.
