Abstract: 
This study’s main objective is to further add on to the existing contribution in innovation and sustainable development (SD) literature. This study examines the reviews of the theoretical perspectives on Innovation and SD to stimulate and provide new ideas for the dynamism of future framework building and research. This study will create a stronger and common platform to understand the uses of theories applicable to innovation and SD relationship. The study explores the diversity from the perspective view of the theories analyzed to achieve a common platform that binds the relationship between innovation and SD. The innovation and sustainability relationship illustrated from the theory viewpoint in this study can provide a creative argument perspective and new insights for research framework, issues and problems. The works of literature on innovation and SD relationship are vast, huge and varied from multi-discipline values related to retail, entrepreneurship, management, economy, sociology, marketing, human resource, and strategy. The innovation and SD relationship cover huge areas of research but this paper sets its focus on the theoretical perspectives.
